Busatte Tempesta path

Updated: Nov 3, 2021

The Busatte Tempesta path is a panoramic path that takes place on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, starting from the Busatte park near Nago-Torbole and reaching Tempesta, a place that, at the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, marked the border with Italy.

The spectacular lake view promenade, winds for about 4 kilometers halfway up the coast, passes two ridges, with the evocative names of Corno di Bò (ox horn) and Salt de la Cavra (goat's jump), with iron stairways that number about 400 steps. The route is very suggestive both for the breathtaking landscapes and for the nature that frames it.

“The Busatte Tempesta panoramic trail is about 5 km long, the length of the itinerary including the round trip is about 11 km. It takes 1 hour and a half each way (about three hours there and back with a normal pace) .The difference in height of the walk is 300 meters.”

Those who choose to take the route starting from Torbole can start the walk from the Busatte Park above Torbole and in about an hour and a half walk you will reach Tempesta, a place that, at the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, marked the border with Italy.

Garda lake

Lake Garda, with its mild climate and perfect water temperature, almost looks like a sea nestled between the Alps and the Po Valley. The lake is surrounded by palm trees, oleanders, olive trees and vines and its shores touch three regions - Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto. All around it there are picturesque villages, beaches and harbors, large centers full of life, parks and nature reserves.

The lake and its hinterland are suitable for all sports: swimming and sailing in the lake above all, and then mountains to climb, mountain bike trails, trekking routes and trails to go on horseback, hills from which to launch hang gliders and streams for rafting.

On the south-western coast of the lake that goes from Sirmione to Limone, the marinas of Bogliaco, Campione, Limone are much loved by sailors and surfers. The Trentino coast, to the north, is also the kingdom of sailing and surfing, thanks to constant winds. Here the main tourist resorts are Riva del Garda and Nago-Torbole.
